By creating your own personal profile, you get to communicate everything you want people to know about you. You can make your profile as professional, or as personal as you want. You can dip your toe in with a free profile (Avocado plan), or create a comprehensive personal listing with downloads to support your message (Jade plan). It’s all on your terms. By describing yourself, your skills, and your background in your own words, you have the best chance of getting a great fit with the prospective employer or customer browsing.
What is a Flexer? Flexer is a combination of two words - Flexible Worker. There wasn’t a word that fit everyone’s situation, so we made one up. A Flexer is anyone available for work on Green Sky
What are my options for earning money?
1. Work for a company – as an employee or as a contractor. You state your preferences
– when you are available, desired pay rate etc. Employers who approach you, understand
both your situation and your expectations
2. Work as a self employed service provider. You provide a service for individuals
(likely to be people in your community). You work for yourself, choosing your own
hours, how and where you work, and the payment you desire. You might already be
self employed or running your own small business
3. Both - You may want to cast your net wide and make yourself available for both
types of work. You might want to work for a boss (part-time or full-time) and top-up
your income working for yourself as well. No doubt you are multi-talented; create
more than one personal listing and you can express all the skills you have and have
multiple income streams

How does Green Sky Work?
Green Sky facilitates the introduction and messaging between the prospective employer
and you - the Flexer. Both parties can determine their own next steps (for example,
agree to a phone conversation, an informal meeting, or an interview). Once there
is a successful appointment, the business or employer who hires you, pays a Success
fee to Green Sky. You can either maintain your listing, or come off our database

You can fully protect your privacy by not showing your name, or details of your
current employment.
When a prospective employer is interested in approaching you, they message you through
Green Sky
Everyone’s privacy is protected, and you can keep track of your dialogue through
our messaging system
Once you message back, the ongoing communication you have, is on your terms. You
can either share your personal details with the prospective employer (arrange to
meet etc), or continue to use our messaging system to clarify whether the approach
is one you are interested in
If you accept a position with the employer, they pay a small Success Fee, and you
can choose whether to keep your profile open on Green Sky or withdraw it Employers
can choose to post jobs which you can browse and message your interest in
You have skills and would like to provide a service for customers in your community
In New Zealand, anyone can work for themselves and generate a flexible income. Most
people consider being self employed to be only for qualified professionals and trade’s
people, but whether you are a lawyer, someone who can mow lawns, a retired mechanic
or someone who can help out a busy mum at dinner time - someone needs your skills
You do have responsibilities, (e.g. declaring your income to Inland Revenue, paying
your own income tax, invoicing your customers etc), but it’s straight forward and
we will help you with everything you need to know as well as some tools to manage
things yourself. There are benefits too. You may be able to claim some of your expenses
– like petrol costs, or if you work from home, some of your rent/mortgage costs.

Whether you are a qualified professional (who individuals would normally search
a business directory for), or someone who doesn’t think they have a particular ‘skill’
– there is someone in your community who will happily pay for your services. If
you would like to earn but are not sure what you want to do, we can help you. We
have great ‘general’ categories exactly for people like you.
Many families now require additional income. Why not turn your hobby, passion or
talent into an income stream? If you love computers, or photography or DJing at
parties, or making crafts, if you have a flair for interior design, write funny
verses or are a baby whisperer, make your talents available. Self taught is fine;
as long as you are honest and disclose the fact that you are not formally qualified.

What are the Flexer profile options and what do they cost?
Everyone creates a full detailed profile when they register as a Flexer. What is
displayed to prospective customers/employers depends on the level of profile you
choose. If you decide on a Lime or Jade profile, you pay a monthly fee, which we
deduct from your credit card automatically at the end of each month. You can increase
or decrease the level of your profile as your situation changes.
