    I'm a marketing specialist with a strategic bent and with a passion for technology.  I thrive on finding creative solutions to strategic challenges and developing programmes to deliver new sources of competitive advantage.



    I have a broad base of experience and strong commercial acumen, having held positions in finance, product management, product development, marketing management, and market development.



    I am a B2B marketing specialist but have experience and knowledge that applies across all sectors.



    I have a history of developing and working with high performing teams.  I enjoy working with people and seek to constantly learn from colleagus, customers and business partners.

    My Background

    I have spent the majority of this first stage of my career within a major technology brand, where I have held a number of key positions, across the marketing and finance functions. I have a broad base of experience, having held positions in finance, product management, product development, marketing management, and market development. I specialise in marketing strategy, market development and the creation of competitive advantage. I have a depth of experience across all elements of the marketing mix, and thrive on finding creative solutions to strategic challenges.

    Driven, hard working, creative (in a "strategy" sense - when it comes to "design" stick figures are about my limit...), straight talking, reliable, and a good guy. Possibly witty, depending who you talk to...

    I'm Proud Of

    From a work point of view, i'm proud of my career at Fuji Xerox.  I've had numerous roles, and every promotion has come as a result of me making things happen, as opposed to waiting for them to happen.

    I've led key strategic intiatives and have become recognised as one of the strategic thinkers in the business, as well as a guy who gets things done.

    I've also been something of a poineer in setting up the FXNZ "solutions" business and taken it to a point where it has genuine momentum and traction.

    I'm also extremely proud of my family.

    The Way I Work

    In a word, "hard".  My achievements to date have come as a result of a willingness to put in the hard work. 

    I also like to work in an environment where the objectives are clear but the team or individual has the autonomy to go away and get the job done.

    I prefer to have a hands-off but supportive relationship with both my manager(s) and my team.

    I Specialise In

    I specialise business to business marketing, particularly in the technology seector. 

    In a broader sense , I specialise in creating and exploiting competitive advantage.  As a marketer one of my key roles is to find sources of competitive advantage. 
    Where these don't already exist I thrive on finding ways to create them - whether through input into NPD, creating new channels to market, leveraging complementary relationships (e.g. partners) or developing new markets.

    I believe I would be perfect for any business that wants a team of people that constantly strive to improve, to challenge the status quo and to find new ways to create success.

    I'm passionate about market strategy and the need to constantly innovate to find and maximise sources of competitive advantage.  I strive in environments where individuals and teams are challenged and encouraged to look for new ways to create success. 

    I have a strong background in B2B marketing.  I also have both an empathy for and a personal interest in technology and the ICT sector, however I have the skills and smarts to make a valuable contribution to any business, in any sector.
