Tordis Flath:
I completed my Mathematics degree at Victoria University and was then
trained as an indexer by Richard Raper at Indexing Specialists in
Brighton, England. I worked on many indexes in-house including The Works of Charles Darwin and Oxford History of England.
In 1996, I started doing freelance indexing in New Zealand. In 2004 I
won the ANZSI Indexer's Medal for the most outstanding index for Life in Letters: Toss Woollaston by published Te Papa Press. I also founded the NZ Branch of ANZSI and am a past president and current
vice-president. I mentor and train new indexers. I also work as a
proofreader and translator (German to English). I have done several
creative writing courses at Whiteria Polytechnic and recently started
writing a book on natural parenting.
