Summary
I started out my career as a bean counter (soya, coffee, cocoa, etc) and achieved my objectives of advancing from junior auditor to financial controller within 6 years plus passing the CPA and CMA exams with fantastic results.
However I had a calling to the IT industry and so began my migration to the "other side" by managing development of a commodity trading & logistics solution that was rolled out to numerous Cargill locations around the globe. 20 years on, it remains in place despite numerous attempts to replace it with off-the-shelf software.
I was born and raised near Chicago, but after my 1st 3 years with Cargill I spent 7 years in Europe and then another 7 years in Asia, with side-trips to Africa and various spots in Asia Pacific. I've been fortunate to have made many friends during my travels and the experience of living abroad has been amazing.
I moved to NZ and reverted to my roots as a business analyst.
