Born in NZ of Dutch immigrant parents. Started in IT in 1976 operating computers the size of a large car with less processing capability than your cellphone. Continued in IT until 2000, having specialised in report management.
Late in 2000, craving adventure, made the move to Malaysia with husband who works in the IT side of publishing. The sights, smells and foods of Asia still evoke fond memories. Started teleworking as a language consultant/proof reader of English as a second language textbooks for use in schools in Hong Kong.
Then on to the Caribbean for four years, another lesson in being a racial minority but tinged with the craziness peculiar to the Caribbean. Loved it there.
Returned to NZ in Feb 2008 for family reasons and settled in Napier. Still teleworking, but would like to try something new, I believe my broad skill set and life experience give me a unique edge.
