    More About Me

I am a hard working, loyal person, who enjoys interesting work and situations.  I don't tend to bore easily.  I have the abilility to be able to get on with all age groups on an equal basis.  Whilst I embrace change easily, but if it does not seem to have any advantages, I have no problem in questioning these.

I have kept up with technology to give me a working or recreational interest, however I am not into really high tech.

I am well groomed, and as it will appear older, I am young and heart and youthful with it.  I am a social person who enjoys good food and wines, gardening, reading.  Sailing/ boating is another love both recreational and competitively, however in Hawke's Bay this option is limited.

    My Background

I was a fortunate due to my fathers work to see a lot of my own country.
I did volunteer work for short periods in the South Pacific and also with a foreign medical unit.
I have worked in an accountants office, seasonal work. Apart from travel, I also  have trained as a Blood Technician and spent some time working at Wellington Hospital with the Mobile Blood Unit.
During my Travel Agent days - apart from the normal selling and processing of travel, I have had various other roles, including managing agencies, taking a training role which at the time brought 8 agencies in a chain to full IATA working status.
Airline has seen me work from the pay section through airport check in, aircraft despatching for the National Carrier and later for CP Air (Canadian) - I had the role of reservations supervisor, and acting airport manager.
During this time with Canadian I spent time in Canada, for training, also escorting groups of travel agents, plus holidays.

    People Describe Me As

Friendly and fun to be with.  Someone that confidences can be shared with and these kept.  Smartly turned out, and well groomed.  Well mannered.  Sensitive to other peoples feelings and able to assess when there are troubles and know when or when not to inquire.

    I'm Proud Of

I have been able to adapt easily to situations and take on and enjoy new changes that come so regularly in business these days, either through technology or company direction.
I have the ability to mix and get on with all age groups.

    The Way I Work

I am a methodical worker, perhaps not totally convinced that "hard copy" is not necessary in all instances.
I work well as a group member and am equally well disaplined to work independently, and achieve all time limits and goals.

    I Specialise In

Working with people - external or internal, to a business.  Customer Relations, problem solving, and background research.  I can be as happy frontline or back office.

    I Would Be Perfect For

Front office - reception, administration work, retail.

    My Attributes

    Reliable, Enthusiastic, Organised, Humorous, Professional

    Additional Comments

Having recently been made redundant, I have had time for reflection.  My thoughts are now, after so long a travel professional, I would like to move into another field, perhaps a fringe relative of travel.
Whilst I work very well - if not best - under pressure, I feel now I have the opportunity to seek a position where there would not be quite so many critical deadlines.
I feel from the replies to some of the employment that I have applied for, that the first reaction is I am to highly skilled and I would get bored.  I guess some people just apply for jobs - I apply for positions that from the information given, I feel I would be very happy to work in.  I have "been there and done that" now is a time to consolidate my experience and enjoy.
